SP2 is worthless

SP2 is absolutely worthless. Released way before it was
ready. DO NOT install now. Could not use any programs
including explorer after I installed SP2. All it did was
eat up space,about 1 Gig on my drive.

Worthless? Perhaps. But running Windows XP without any
additional, third-party security precautions that are
otherwise provided in SP2 may be worse.

Forgot to add...in addition to all of the security patches
that have been released since SP1.

I've had no problems whatsoever - happy to have it.

I like some of the stuff with sp2 but my note book is very slow to start up
now I used to talk about 30 sec. and i was up and running now it takes 2 min
and opining up control panel or other folders it has to look for it for a few
sec before opening it. I dont like that.

Defragment the disk. It helps a lot after such a big installation.

Perhaps you are right but I venture to suggest it is your opinion that is
worthless. Don't you think there are sufficient fellow idiots posting this
type of rubbish without you contributing? Unless you decide to migrate to
another OS it is almost inevitable that you will install SP2 on your machine
so just come to terms with it.
