sp2 XP program losses

I downloaded sp2 from the auto update. I have lost IE and the ability to use
System Restore. My computer will not recognize my password as the sysadmin.
I cannot go back to system restore.

What's going on? I cannot acces the internet from my computer. I click IE,
the window appears for 2 sec, and then disappears.
