SP3 Failure

SP3 is not installing because "a device attached to the system is not
functioning properly." I'm running Windows XP on a Compac Preasrio V6000.

So what's attached to the computer? Have you disconnected things such as
printers, scanners etc before trying the update?
If it's not something obviously have you checked in the Device Manager.

Actually, nothing is attached to my laptop. I did just find a something the
queue for a printer that is no longer attached. This may be it. I will run
the update again and see if this works.
