Yes, the 2 errors are connected. The system is/was infected with a Cool
Web Search variant :

Since that specific one is from January, 2004, this one *may* be a newer
variant of it.
It's also identified as TrojanDropper.Win32.Small.cw by Kaspersky.

Unfortunately, info on that specific variant is lacking.
Either have the system scanned by a qualified techie or a friend, or
choose one of these reputable anti-malware forums if you want to tackle
