SP4 for Windows ME

Hello,
Have just purchased an ipod whose software won't run because I don't have
SP4. Have downloaded both express and installation versions, but when I try
to open I get the following message: SP4EXPRESS_EN[1].EXE file is linked to
missing export NTDLL.DLL:strstr.
Can anyone please help????

Windows ME doesn't have Service Packs....
Does it?

Windows ME (Windows Millennium) does not equate to Windows 2000.

Windows 2000 (Win2K) is a NT based OS and is at SP4 level.
Windows ME (WinME) is the last of the Win9x family and has NO service packs.

Based upon your post you have WinME and you can't install patches or HotFixes for Win2K or
WinXP on WinME. That is why you received that error.

Windows 2000 SP4? Why do you think you need SP4? I found this reference to
SP4EXPRESS:

W32.Gaobot virus

Affected: All versions of windows
Not affected: MACS, UNIX, LINIX

This virus spreads via the Internet. If you computer is on the Internet you
are a prime target of this virus. It DOES NOT transmit via email. It
transmits itself through back doors left by Microsoft and file sharing
programs. This happens without your knowledge. Please apply the following
patches.

If you have a Windows 2000 computer you must be at service pack 4, if not
please follow the first link as indicated. If you have Windows XP and are
not on service pack 1 please follow the second link as indicated. Then for
each Security Bulletin after that you must apply the appropriate patch for
your operating system.

NOTE: Failure to do these update will directly lead to your computer
contracting not only this virus but many others.

ME doesn't have a SP4.

Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 or Windows XP Home or Professional
