Spam Folder not receiving Emails in Windows Live Mail

In my Windows Live mail i have added a folder to move all my spam into. Some
of the spam i use, but the last couple of days i have received no emails at
all with spam. I am receiving normal emails to my inbox.

I use the Message Rules in Tools to move everything with "spam" into a
separate folder. I have even cancelled this to see if that works.

Any ideas would be great

Thanks in advance

Are you saying that the emails come with spam added to the Subject?
If yes, then you have a spam program doing the labeling or your isp is doing
the labeling.

Yes, it is with Spam in the subject line. How can i get the emails to come
back into my email. I have not done anything different and this has only
happened over the last couple of days. I have even done a System Restore. I
got the emails before without a problem

thanks

You need to figure out what was adding the 'Spam' label to the
subject line, either the server or your antivirus/anti-spam program.
Windows Live Mail doesn't alter the subject line of incoming emails.
Who is your mail service provider, and what third party security programs
are you running?

My ISP also places a "[SPAM]" prefix to the subject of messages that its
SpamAssassin software detects, before sending it on to me. It makes it easy
to differentiate, as well as [cough] use mail rules on to send to a Spam
folder for later checking, if not sending to the Spamcop system for
reporting.

I don't use AVG antivirus, but I don't believe that the basic free version
has an anti-spam module.
I also know very little about Orange, so perhaps one of our UK responders
knows whether Orange offers customer-selectable server-based
spam filtering options.

I used to subscribe to Freeserve, which became Wanadoo UK and
finally, Orange UK. Service deteriorated so several years ago, I
moved to a different ISP.

In those days, the Freeserve / Wanadoo / Orange webmail
interface did offer customer-selectable filtering options. I
have visited the help pages at
http://help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/su...vice/index.jsp,
in an attempt to check the up to date position. However, access
to the on-line FAQs seems to be restricted to Orange subscribers
(or the site is malfunctioning) - so I don't know whether any of
the options have changed.

In my experience, the Orange SPAM filters used to trigger a lot
of false positives - and missed some very obvious spam. However,
I recall that configuration options included:

a. Adding ***SPAM*** to the subject line. (That was the
default setting - which facilitated subsequent sorting by the
subscriber.)

Alternative options allowed the subscriber to

b. Disable the SPAM filters

c. Retain suspected SPAM messages in a junk mail folder on the
central server - or

d. Delete suspected SPAM at source (a rather dangerous option,
due to the prevalence of false positives).

I hope the OP will be able to access the FAQs - or obtain the
necessary information from his ISP.

I use AOL as my mail server and WLM as the front-end for my mail with an
IMAP connection to AOL.
AOL puts it's junk in a folder called SPAM.
That folder (SPAM) has been added to my WLM folders because when I connect
to AOL mail through WLM, all of the mail is sent to WLM in the same folders
that AOL uses.
Hope that's clear.
