Hello,
I've been reading in this group for awhile but haven't seen my question.

I'd like to be able to have a volume control icon in my task bar, but can't figure out how to get it. So far the only way I can adjust the speaker volume levels is to use "Start" >"Help and Support" then type speaker volume then chose the number one answer "Adjust the speaker volume" which gives me another window where I chose the number one answer "Click to Open Volume". Then the "volume mixer" opens and I can adjust the speaker volume.

Need I say that seems a little awkward? With XP I could put an icon in the task bar and simply click on it when I wanted to adjust the speaker volume. I've found no such way to get to the adjustment control in Vista Home Edition Premium. I can't even get to the control I just described through the 'control panel > sound' option.

Thanks for any help.

In Vista, you do this as follows:
1. Right-click on Windows taskbar and select "Properties" menu item.
2. Select "Notification Area" tab.
3. In the "System icons" section, check the "Volume" box.
4. Click OK.

This should get you the volume control beside the clock.

Hi Larry,

This will show you how. Just check the Volume icon in Method One.
