speaker phone possible in vista?

Hey All,

I'm remembering fondly the speakerphone capability that an old
computer w/a voice/fax modem had (this is probably circa win95) and
wondered if it's possible to get the same functionality in vista home
premium 32-bit? I surfed a bit & voice/fax modems are still
available, but it looks like these are not being brought into the
modern world (i.e., no vista compatible drivers). Have I just not
surfed enough, or is that really the case? If it is true that a v/f
modem solution won't work, is there a modern equivalent?

I'm familiar w/skype's in/out service, but am looking to avoid paying
another monthly fee if I can (yes I am a cheap so-and-so ;-).

Any advice appreciated.
