Somehow groups.google is a bit messed up today it seems and it won't
let me post a follow up to my previous posting here, so I'll start a
new thread with the same subject.
Thanks for all the useful responses.
The partition I was referring to is 3.5 gb, the WINDOWS dir is 1.8 gb
and the 'program files' dir is 0.8 gb.
Off course I have the option of uninstalling some programs and
installing them in a 'program files' dir on another partition, but I
think it will suffice just to install any additional programs on a
different partition. Besides, I deleted all uninstall directories by
now. :-)
I also can still delete the 'SoftwareDistribution\Download' dir for
some extra free space when I've succeeded installing SP2.
I've already turned off hybernation mode and use a page file on a
different partition. I think I'll manage to keep windows running
smoothly without altering the size of the windows partition.
