Speculation: Windows Vista SP2 RTM - April 2009

Some persons have asked about when Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista will be
arriving:
Quote: "A confidential source has revealed that Microsoft will deliver a
Release Candidate in February, 2009 with the final SP2 binary scheduled for
RTM (Release to Manufacturing) in April, 2009. As always, do remember that
when Microsoft announces that a product is RTM, it doesn't mean you will be
able to download it right away. RTM merely means it is "released to
manufacturing", including OEMs. Actual public release will be sometime
later. Release to web (RTW) will also occur sometime after RTM. "

You stupid piece of ****. You have no personal pride and no level of
personal embarrassment do you?
I mean you are by far the biggest loser and confirmed idiot posting in
here about how Vista is simply beyond your comprehension. Yet you still
carry on your failed Vista hate campaign.
GD!!! You can't be all that dumb and stupid can you?
Oh never mind, we all know the answer to that question.

Its interesting you say painful. The majority of notebooks I see out there
are running Windows Vista, ask those users users if they would like a
downgrade to XP, and the answer is most likely to be a big fat no. Windows
Vista had a rough release initially because of issues that have plagued
every version of Windows, device driver and application compatibility. But a
lot has changed since the first 3 to 5 months on the market. Saying Windows
7 is the answer does not make sense, 7 is built on top of Windows
Vista/Server 2008 SP1. They share the same code and level of compatibility.

If you have hardware that works with Vista it will be fine with Windows 7.

People who try to upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 may well have
teething pains that are similar to what happened when people switched over
to Vista.

If you have non compliant hardware it will not work in either version. That
old flat bed scanner you couldn't get to work in Vista is not going to
magically work in Windows 7.

"That old flat bed scanner you couldn't get to work in Vista ..."

I was surprised when my old scanner that doesn't work in Vista (but does
with Windows XP) will work once installing VueScan. The problem is that the
hardware manufacturer has not updated their drivers for the new OS, but a
third party will for a price ($30 for VueScan).

I have heard of no plans for an XP to Windows 7 upgrade.
The pre-beta WDC release runs very well on my machine.

I was more referring to pre XP vintage hardware (which worked fine with
Windows XP) as likely being non-compatible with Windows 7 - as some of it
was for Vista.
