First of all, thank you so much for giving me the link to the AumHa forum,
after 4 days my computer seems fixed!! I've got Spybot Resident protection
running, and so often it comes with alerts 'Spybot detected a registry entry
change', with buttons 'Allow change' and 'Deny change' at the bottom. The
Help instructions say it's safe to allow change in most cases. I don't
understand what allowing change does, but is it truly safe? And is there a
way to minimise the frequency of those alerts? They come up in batches of 10
or so at a time, very distracting!

there should also be a box that you can check/uncheck that is labeled
remember this decision. by checking this box each time (this is annoying at
first) the program will build a table of decisions which it refers to when an
change is detected. if you have already had this appear in the past and
checked this box when it came up, it will ignore it from then on. Eventually
this will mean that very few spybox warnings will appear, and the ones that
do will be new (and therefore possibly very important) changes.

Hope this helps!
