Hi,

We have a MSCS2003 running with 2 nodes..Earlier we have installed SQL 2000
instance and it was working with 2 nodes..some how one node got issues and we
have not been able to bring that node in cluster..Atlast we rebuilded machine
and added back to cluster..Now when we are trying to add the node to SQL
instance we are getting following error in log file:

06:04:28 Setup is performing required operations on cluster nodes. This may
take a few minutes...
06:04:28 C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\2\SqlSetup\Bin\ remsetup.exe
C:\WINNT\remsetup.ini
06:07:28 Process Exit Code: (5) Access is denied.

06:07:28 Begin Action : GetRemsetupRetCode
06:07:28 Installation return status on C01 : 5
06:07:28 End Action : GetRemsetupRetCode
#### SQL Server Remote Setup - Start Time 02/28/09 06:04:28 ####

CThreadPool::RunUntilCompleteHlpr create thread, index=0
CThread::Run thread [0x84] created for execution.
CThread::Process [0x84]
CThreadPool::RunUntilCompleteHlpr start thread [0x84],index=0
Script file copied to '\\C01\ADMIN$\C01_V01.iss' successfully.

Installing remote service (C01)...

An error occured in the service create (C01): 5...

CThreadPool::RunUntilCompleteHlpr WaitForMultipleObjects returned: 0
CThreadPool::RunUntilCompleteHlpr signaled thread [0x84]
Thread [0x84] exit code: [0x5]
CThreadPool::RunUntilComplete returned 5
CThreadPool::RunUntilComplete execution level=1, need execution: 0
One or more errors occurred while running the remote/unattended setups.

Disconnecting from remote machine (C01)...

Service removed successfully.

Remote files removed successfully.

Any body can help on this issue?

Thanks

Hi Binu,

Did you reinstall SQL 2000 ?

In the SQL 2000 setup you need to give the virtual cluster node and not
create a new one.
Did you check the installation guide "SQL Server 2000 Failover Clustering "

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc917693.aspx
