sqmdata and sqmnoopt

I suddenly have lots of sqmdata and sqmnoopt files with a .sqm extension on
my c:\ drive. ‘Googling’ only tells me that they are connected with windows
live messenger, which I knew as I have recently and reluctantly downloaded it
after nagging from my kids. I cannot find out anything about them except that
they are to do with user experience. I don’t want them, and if I can’t stop
them I will remove messenger. I do not like stuff like this at the best of
times. If multiple files are needed and it is difficult to find info on them,
I don’t want them, or the program no matter how innocent the program
distributor says they are. So can anybody help with what these files are
actually for, how, if at all can I stop them from accumulating and why, if
they are needed and useful is it so difficult to find out anything about
them?
Thanks in advance.

Although prepared for martyrdom, I preferred that it be postponed.

Err, you do recognize that the original poster made their post over 2 months
ago, right?

I'm sure your bosses are happy you're posting to the newsgroups and all,
but, maybe you should look for something a little more, I dunno, recent to
help with.

I have v.8 and these files keep appearing so that if I didn't delete them
they would take over! I am sick of windows and their intrusions. I now have a
partition with linux on it and if and when I get up to speed with it, I will
ditch windows and if my kids aren't happy they can buy their own computer!
