Hi,
Does anyone have problems with SSH tunneling? Ever since I have
Windows Vista, I can't use tunneling. On my XP laptop it works fine
with the same software (like putty) and settings.

Have you check the application developer's website for updates and issues
with regard to Vista?

Goede dag Christine

FWIW, I use Putty on Vista to connect to a Solaris box; and it works fine
(ie, I've had no problems with Putty on Vista)

I also use the SSH compont of StarNet's XWin32 to run X applications on
Vista and, likewise: it runs fine (had problems during Vista beta, fixed in
XWin32 8.2 - but that was with XDMCP, not SSH).

There was a problem using Putty over IPv6 on Vista - that was fixed in Putty
0.59. But IPv4 should work.

You may need to do some troubleshooting to find the cause of your problem.
If the problem appears using a specific SSH tool (such as Putty) you may get
better answers asking in a related forum ... Vista itself has no intrinsic
problem with SSH, as far as I know.

Good luck!

Tot straks,

I have done trouble shooting with the developer of abs telnet, I've
also used putty, the connection seems to be very slow. I'm
investigating further, thanks for the help :-)

To analyse slow performance of apps which run across a network, it's often
useful to get a network trace. On Vista, you can use either Network Monitor

Microsoft Network Monitor 3.1
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

or Wireshark:
http://www.wireshark.org/

These would help to show where the delay is, in the network conversation.
