Staging Space Overflow

Some large files were copied to a DFS folder that caused the staging area to
overflow. The DFS Replication event log is peppered with entries of the
following nature:

The DFS Replication service detected that the staging space usage is above
the staging quota for the replicated folder at local path <Folder>. The
service might fail to replicate some large files and the replicated folder
might get out of sync. The service will attempt to clean up staging space
automatically.

I have confirmed that at least one folder is out of sync. I thought maybe
DFS would remember this incident and re-try when activity is lower. There
are a lot of times when DFS activity is non-existent. After several days,
however, the folders remain out-of-sync.

I have increased the staging area quota. What is the accepted procedure for
correcting this out-of-sync problem? It seems odd that DFS has washed its
hands of the situation by quietly putting some entries into the event log.
