Standby and Reconnection

I usually put my PC in Standby. When I wake up the PC Live Messenger will
reconnect. This usually takes a couple of minutes. Is there a way to speed
this up?

I can open messenger and see the timer countdown. I can hit connect ant it
will. But I am lazy and don't want to have to do that.

The delay is there because of software firewalls not completely starting after being in
suspend, and simply just re-obtaining an IP when you've lost your IP lease takes time. I
don't think anyone's patched this and certainly it's not a setting you can set.

With Vista making Standby the standard "shut down" button, I guess this will become more of
an issue...
