Star Wars Battlefront II

I see that the game is listed in VISTA supported games, but I am having a
problem running the game on our new system. We have VISTA Ultimate

It loads fine, seemingly starts correctly and then abruptly dies when you
try to begin the play. The screen closes and you are at your desktop again.

I've seen the problem posted on a few discussion sites in early/mid 2007 but
I have yet to find/see the fix. Can anyone help?

PS. I should add that I am barely computer literate (i.s. I know just
enough to screw things up royally) and am doing this for my 10 year old (o.k.
and for me too).

I had the same problem. Follow this link and it should fix that
problem. But I am having new problems. After playing the first course, I
get to where it is supposed to show your stats, and there are no stats.
The display board is not there, there are no buttons, and there is no
mouse. All I see is the imperial and rebel symbols floating in the
backround. And in the first mission whenever I am the Jet Trooper, half
the screen goes white when I first use him, and when I use the jetpack.
I could use some help as well if anyone is willing.
P.S. I hope you do not have these problems. ':shock:'
