Start menu/desktop setup all LOST after restarting!?

Hi,

I restarted Vista instead of shutting it down, and I found all my frequently
used start menu programmes eg. Messenger, and short cut icons on my desk are
all GONE upon restart!

Does anyone know how to restore the original settings? Many thanks!

Hi, Johnny.

I Restart Vista quite often. I certainly should not make your icons
disappear!

But, since it did, right-click on your empty Desktop and click View | Show
Desktop Items.

Post back if that doesn't work.
