After having disabled the "Store and display a list of recently opened files"
and "Store and display a list of recently used programs" options in the
Taskbar Properties dialog box, I realized I made a mistake because I didn't
want all the frequently used programs to disappear. So I re-enabled the
option to display the recently used programs.
Unfortunately, it still has no effect - I checked and unchecked and logged
off and restarted and still not a single program shows up in the start menu.
If anybody has an idea of what's going on, please help.

It takes a little before recently used programs start showing up on the
Start menu. When start using the apps more than once they will eventually
appear there.

programs and none of them shows up in the recent progs list. I think i
remember going through this in XP, too...
