Start menu trouble in Vista

Hi...

Many of the shortcuts in my Vista start up menu do not start their
designated programs.
When I right click and choose "Properties" there is nothing in the field
where the start folder is to be.
Even if I paste in the right path it do not work.
The only way to start f.eks Microsoft Excel is to click my way down the
dungeons of the start menu to the Microsoft Office folder. A lot of work, if
you ask me...

What can be wrong?
I run Windows Vista Ultimate with all updates on a selfbuilt up to date
stationery computer.

Greetings,

Well these shortcuts are made by the Windows Installer. You can't edit them and most of the
fields will be grayed out.

If it's only a few programs, I'd simply just make some new shortcuts to the programs in
question and use those.
