I just bought a Dell 519 Inspiron 64 system, Home Premium edition. I bought it 3 weeks ago and I have had ongoing problems with the computer not starting correctly right from the beginning. If I put the computer in sleep mode or log off for more than a few hours, the screen locks up and the mouse cursor freezes. Sometimes the computer will not start correctly and I have to manually turn it on and off 4-5 times until the screen shows the message "Start windows normally." When the "System Repair" comes on screen and I select, it never fixes the problem. It just loops around forever and then asks me if I want to go to a restore point. Sometimes the clock will also revert back to central time instead of eastern time (USA) and I have to reset it. The Aero mode was not working correctly in the beginning, but a Dell tech fixed that. They haven't been able to fix the main problem though.
I have been on the phone with Dell 4 times already and it is always 2 hours at a time. They tell me they made adjustments, but it never stays fixed. Any ideas? I am ready to bring it back to the store. Thank you in advance. Please keep help tips simple. I'm not an idiot, but I am no techie. Thanks.
