I have a new area that has appeared on my Start Screen. It is along the left
side of the screen. It has covered my desktop picture, but moved the Icons
to the right. The added display is a blue area with drop downs (just like
the left edge when you pull up My Network Places, or My computer. Anyone
have a idea how to get the Start page back to normal. (I have set up a new
user and it does not appear...just my original screen is dorked.

Type in Start Run
regsvr32 /i shell32
Reboot

or

Correct the Registry setting when the Common Tasks pane appears on the WinXP
Desktop.
