This is new for me. Up until the last update cycle I've never had a problem
using IE6 on XP-Pro/SP2 to obtain and install updates. But this time the 2
new updates did download into 2 folders but would not install the normal
way. I had to find the folders for the KB's and use the update.exe program
in each folder for the 2 in order to apply the two updates -- and this did
work. But the problem of them not installing via IE surely remains and I
suspect really cropped up when I used IE6 on January 5 to install KB912919
(the WMF exploit update) without problem, the last update that now shows in
the updates history via IE6 at the update website. I don't want to have to
hunt down all downloaded updates from now on and manually cause them to
install (and thus not show in my update history viewable with IE). Any ideas
of how to fix what KB912919 seems to have broken?
