Hi,
I,ve upgraded my son's pc to vista home premium. Until here everything Ok.
The problem is that I can't start the pc in safe mode.
I've tried two ways:
1. Press and hold "F8";
2. Continuously and quickly pressing "F8".
None of this worked.
Does anyone knows how to start it in safe mode?

Hello,

I don't know if this is maybe a silly remark - but could you try starting
Vista in Safe Mode out of msconfig.exe 's settings?
Run msconfig.exe -> tab "Boot" -> Click your Windows Vista -> Check "Safe
Boot" -> Minimal

Please tell us if it worked/not worked.
Greetings,

To use Safemode, you must restart your computer all the way. After the boot
screen, usually your OEM logo, such as Dell, HP, Compaq, the screen will go
blank for just a moment, that is when you want to start tapping the F8 key at
the top of your keyboard. From there you will be given a Safe Mode Selection
List.

If this has helped you, please select this as your answer.

Thanks Christopher,
That is the real problem. When I press F8 Key, nothing goes on. The PC
reboots normally.

Okay Jorge,

Let us try this. Hold the start button and press the R Key to open a run
dialog box. from their type "msconfig" and press enter on your keyboard. The
System Configuration Utility will open up. From their go ahead and select the
"Boot" tab from the top. In their on your left hand side toward the bottom of
that window you will have a check box that says "Safe Boot" go ahead and
check that box. Select the "Apply" Button and hit "Okay" and "RESTART" this
should get you into Safe Mode.

At the right hand end of your "F" keys you might have an "F-Lock" key.
Unlock it when you are in your normal desktop. reboot, and then press F8

Thanks Christopher,
Yes, I was able to get into safe mode, and, because of that I could solve my
problem with a network adaptor.
Thanks again.
