Starting Windows Live Messenger games

Everytime I try to start games on windows messenger, the sidescreen pops up
and says that it is connecting. This screen stays the same and never
actually connects to the game. What is not working? Thank you for your help!

This typically happens if a third-party software firewall is blocking the connections to the
games web server. Are you using a third-party firewall by any chance? If so, disable or
uninstall it (temporarily) to see if that's the problem. If that is confirmed to be the
problem then you can go from there.

I am not too computer literate and don't know about any third-party
firewall or where I would find it. I did drop my Windows firewall and the
problem still existed. Where would I find a third-party firewll on my
computer??? Thanks!
