Doesn't matter how many times I change it to Available, the next time I sign in it will say I'm
Busy. Anybody else having this problem? After a hundred times or so it gets a little tedious.

Greetings Rick,

Where are you changing this status? Messenger has a default sign-in status you can set, and
that is unaffected by simply setting your status once you're signed in.

To change your sign-in status, right-click Messenger's icon in the notification area (by the
clock) and choose Sign Out (assuming of course, you're signed in). Then double-click the
icon to bring up the main Messenger window.

Click the menu next to "Sign in as:" and choose the status you prefer. Then choose Sign in
to save that setting and sign in. You should now sign in as that status from now on.

I've been getting this for a few weeks too.

My status on the Sign On screen is "Available" but as soon as I sign in, my
status is changed to Busy. Is there a regkey that stores this setting?

I've got a couple of Live IDs and it does this will all of them under XP but
I think it's working ok under Vista and 7 (will need to double check).

WLM Version 2009 Build 14.0.8064.206

TIA
Simon
