I have setup and added the code onto my website to enable the msn messenging
service. The messenger loads with no problems but the status is always set to
offline although I am logged in. Any help would be very useful.
Many Thanks

Greetings,

I assume you mean using the web control (as opposed to implementing your own via the
library)? That assumed, you need to allow others to see your status from the web if you
haven't already done so.

To do so, head over to:
http://settings.messenger.live.com/a...bSettings.aspx

and make sure the 'Allow anyone on the web to see my presence and send me messages. ' is
selected, then choose Save at the top.

Hi Jonathan,

I have already selected the option to all anyone on the web to see my
presence and send me messages but the status still says offline.

Many Thanks

Hi,

I know this sounds ridiculous, but have you tried unchecking it, choosing Save, and then
going back and turning it on again? Worth a shot.

Hi Jonathan,

Brilliant, it now works, I unticked the option and saved then ticked and
saved again, this time it is working fine. Many Thanks
