hello
recently i've been experiencing problems with my online status with MSN Live
8.0.0178.

My status says 'online' but to my contacts, i appear as 'offline.'

I've tried so many possible solutions, but this problem still occurs.
I read somewhere that I should delete my contacts and then add them again to
reconnect my contacts to my account? Is this true?

I even re-installed MSN to try and resolve this problem. Hopefully it
resolved it but I'm still unconvinced.

Hope someone can help,
Jo

Its a long shot but make sure SSL 2 & 3 are ticked under Tools/internet
options/advanced tab/under security heading.

I had some similar problems after an install on my laptop. I compared the
settings page for page with my main pc and that was the only difference.
Once ticked I was recognised as online.

Seen same problem - nothing wrong with internet settings. It's actually
worse than that when I change status it sometimes just flips back and refuses
to change. Only thing that works is to exit messenger completely then open
it up again. Sometimes needs to be killed to close it properly. Have logged
feedback on it but ... definitely started happening with latest release.
