Since When does Microsoft Updates say that an administrator
account is NOT??
Some Po,Pollock running MS updates better fix the site NOW.
I have two accounts, One standard, the other is
administrator. I used the administrator account, and it says
I need an admin account to be using the site. Then the
support site says my OEM product number ins not valid.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???

It's really easy...

If you bought the machine from someone like DELL (An OEM) they didn't
pay Microsoft the full price for the OS so MS won't support it, the
company who "Built" the machine must support it... so if you paid an OEM
price for a DVD and installed it yourself then you are the manufacturer
and you didn't pay the full price and you you have to support it. If you
bought it from some bloke on a Chinese market stall it's probably a
contractual obligation that "He" support it, but I bet you won't find him

The problem with Administrators is that they like to think that, well,
that they should "Administer things", and as a result they present a
security risk to the machine because if they take a coffee break and
someone else sits down at their machine for a minute he can do damage -
soooo, because Administrators couldn't be discouraged from trying to
Administer things and logged in as Administrators all the time Microsoft
decided that you could be an Administrator only if you ask them each
time you want to be...

To avoid a sort of social "Affront" to people who "Wanted to be
Administrator" but weren't really qualified to be, MS kindly allowed the
name to be shared between Administrators and, well, Administrators in
rather the same way that all Australian men are called "Bruce" and all
Australian women are called "Sheila" I can't tell the difference, one
just has to hope that Australians can

Disclaimer, this post is provided as is, with no warranties (or
Australians) implied or conferred, and in no way reflects the official
policy of Microsoft or any other company known to man. No animals were
harmed during the making of this post although Steve Ballmer did once
bruise his leg while playing the rear end of a pantomime horse
(according to rumor). We apologize for the cancellation of the scheduled
comedy act, which was to be Bill Gates explaining the validity of
Windows Product Activation, but the lines to India were tied up and Mr
Gates plane couldn't be activated...

Contact the Technical Support from where you purchased your PC, since they
are they ones really responsible for issues related to OEM Windows.

ha ha ha ha he he he he i like the last part about bill gate i hope they
manage to activate the plane and in flight some pop up somes up saying you
have made a hardware change and must reactivate the plane(unfortunatly it
can only be done on ground), and the plane will be on reduced functonality
untill then, therefore you can no longer use the rudder, the flaps, the
engine controls, and the restroom, or open the doors.

Before you rant and make racial slurs you might want to turn off the
signature line directing people to a Christian web site. It really makes
your witness as a Christian ineffective.

Tired of this crap? Check out Ubuntu at http://www.ubuntu.com No
activation, no becoming "genuine" and no control over YOUR computer from
Redmond. Order the FREE CD. You can install it on as many computers you
want and copy it and share it with your friends and family if you like.

My favorite corollary to that is:

Design a system that any fool can use and only a fool will want to use it.
