When I first hooked up my new Vista computer, I didn't have the network cable
plugged in, so the machine asked me for a login and password. I realized my
error and plugged in the cable, and the computer saw my network immediately.
I had to reboot, but my computer seemed to be working fine.
The problem occured when my computer went into Sleep mode. When I moved the
mouse to start it up again, the computer again asked me for my login and
password. My home network has anonymous authentication, the non-Explorer
programs that require internet access started up fine, but Explorer didn't
want to let me online without a login and password.
Is this a setting in the computer or just explorer? Where can I tell it
that I don't need to logon with a password? I glanced briefly through
Explorer's Internet Options, but the right tab didn't immediately leap out to
me and I am not at the computer now. Can someone tell me how to set this, or
where they put the check box for anonymous authentication so I can fix it
when I get home?
