Is it possible to wait for a period of time to see the respond from users about SP2? even it is available in MS windowsupdate?

since, lots of uncertain things of the large software such as ompatible cannot be be identified.

thanks

tlee,

Yes, you can wait to see what gets broken and what doesn't.
In the meantime, check this out :

Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) Support Center

Yes, you can wait.
Be sure to turn off Automatic Update if you do not wnat SP-2.
Monitor this newsgroup to see what issues materialize.

When you are ready, follow the Service Pack Installation Checklist:

Hello,

Thank for all of your replies, have you install SP2 at your PC?
is it stable? will it make the PC to become slow?

Tom;
So far I have installed SP-2 on two computers.
No installation issues at all.
Seems very stable.
One computer seemed a little faster, other I rarely personally use.
Of course speed is more of a feeling since I had nothing to actually
test with.
I followed the checklist I gave in the previous link prior to
installing SP-2.
