Stop Automatic Checking for Newsgroup Messages?

(Running Vista Ultimate 64-bit, SP-2,
IE-8, WM-6, WLM-09, classic mode,
dial-up.)

My system is set to check for new email
every 15 minutes, and that is fine for
me. It also checks for new newsgroup
messages every 15 minutes, which I'd
like to stop. Is there an easy way to
do that? I'm very happy to have my
system check for new newsgroup messages
only when I go to a particular
newsgroup.

Thanks.

Tools, Accounts, Properties of the newsgroup server, uncheck Include this
account when checking for new messages.

it's a bug that hopefully will be fixed in wave 4.
