how to stop being informed of updates?

Please can somebody tell me how to stop my computer (running Windows 98SE)
informing me that new updates are available? Thank you.

Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Microsoft Windows Critical Update
Notification > Click the Add/Remove button.
