How to stop repeated duplicate update notifications

Every day I get the automatic notification for Security Update for Windows
Journal Viewer (KB886179). However the software is not installed on my
machine and the installation of the update fails.

Does anyone know how to bypass this constant "spam" update? I would think a
couple of well placed registry entries would fool the updater into thinking
that the update had already been successfully installed.
