How stop an update that repeatedly fails?

Hi, Windows Update (in Windows Vista) fails to update a printer driver and
try repeatedly to do the update with repeating failures. With what operations
could I stop Windows Update from trying to do this recommended update, but
still keep the setting for future recommended updates on? Grateful for tips.

(The update is: HP - Printers - HP Officejet J6400 series, which I do not
need.)

Within Vista Update, to hide an update...

1. Click View available updates
2. Right-click on the update you wish to hide
3. Click Hide Update
4. Confirm the UAC if needed
