stopping my pointer automatically opening things

Could some one please tell me how i stop my pointer automatically
opening things when it is pointed at something......does that make
sence?????

no it isn't stuck.....just when i move my pointer round a page usin
the laptop trackpad if i leave it pointing to, say, to a command button
it will automatically click it, or if i am in a menu and don't move m
pointer away from an option, it will open it without me having t
double click...sorry my technical language is very basic...i know what
mean though!!!!:

Yes, on some laptops using a touchpad. usually there are options that are
for the touchpad that will modify how it works.
You may have an icon showing the touchpad, or you may have to "look around"
in such things as he control panel.
Some of the older laptops had touchpad support and options in BIOS.

it sounds like a setting, uncheck open after hovering for X seconds...

Find out where you have the touchpad options for your machine and check the
settings. Check the users manual if you have one.
