If this is Windows XP, the Service Pack files are stored at
WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles, it's uninstallation folder is at
WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$, and the Automatic Updates download
setup package is in WINDOWS\Software Distribution\Download
The AU download package will eventually be deleted by a setting in the
registry.
Updates are stored similarly, except that there are no separate
subfolders created in the WINDOWS directory as there are for SPs.
Plus, file versions and branch [QFE,GDR] information that are used by
future updates to determine which branch of an update to install are
located at WINDOWS\$hf_mig$
