where are stored the filed from win update

I use win update to update my win 2000 sp4, but I need to make a backup of
all the files downloaded, like KB898623, etc..., in case I need to re-install
my PC.
Where are stored all these files while downloading ?
How to make a backup of them ?

Hi,

Updates installed with Windows Update cannot be used in this way.

You can use the Windows Update Catalog to obtain updates suitable
for storing/reuse:
