Strange behavior

I went to see my dad for the holidays. He was complaining that recently
opened windows get "pushed back".
For instance, open control panel, then mouse properties.
Then after a few seconds the mouse prop. window goes behind the control
panel window. To bring it back you click it in the taskbar and it goes
behind again. You need to click it and double click it several times to make
it stay. Also, this is not program specific. It can happen with internet
explorer windows, also, you open a new window and it gets pushed back. Very
strange. Is there a virus that does this? We did however scan for viruses,
spyware and adware. Some minor stuff was found.

Any insight on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sirius

Suggest you check: Control Panel, Ease of Access, Ease of Access Center,
Make the mouse easier to use. Look down the options for Make is easier to
swith between windows. Has your dad checked the box to Activate a window by
hovering ofer it with the mouse? If so, clear the check box.

If he has a wired mouse, it likely has a frayed, shorting cable.
