Streaming Connections Being Dropped

My video streaming connenctions from C-SPAN are continually being dropped
after playing only 30-60 seconds. No error dialog is even given. Just
being dropped.

I have narrowed it down to the Windows Vista system.

How?

When I have the stream showing on Win Media Player on a computer running
XP, it never goes down.

It goes down on the host running Vista (Home Premium) whether I have it
running on WMP standing alone or embedded in an Internet Explorer object
which is running inside Firefox (by the way, WMP is not activated/opened by
Firefox...I must use a "Run IE object inside Firefox" --IE tab---extension
in order to get WMP to do anything).

try turning off your antivirus and firewall for a little and see if that
changes anything.

Vista is about a billion times worse than XP plus minus 0.001%
