Stuck during install of kb933669

Vista Ultimate indicated I had several updates to install this morning
including kb933669. This an update for PowerPoint 2003.

I told it to install all updates (there were 9). It downloaded them
and installed the first with no problem. It was at the end of the
second hour of installing the second, kb933669, that I chose 'Stop
Install'. The Stop Install button was grayed out after that so I let
it go for 3 more hours.

After a total of 5 hours for this update to finish, I attempted to
shutdown. Now my system has partially shut down with the message "
Please do not power off or unplug your machine. Installing update 2
of 9"

Any idea how long I should wait and what my next action should be
should nothing change after that amount of wait?
