OMG I just clean installed XP Pro on my HP a5040a and there are no
drivers for it. All of them are Vista. Any ideas on how to get them. The
mobo is P5LP-LE. Help is appreciated.

Did you check the mfg's website?
They should have the drivers there

Check the manufacturers website to find out if device drivers for Windows XP
are available for that model computer.

Hi toloratedmeat,

I have just checked the HP website and there are no other drivers available
for your machine other than the Vista ones (both 32-bit and 64-bit). You
could try contacting HP to see if they are going to develop XP drivers for
your machine, but I don't hold out much hope.

Have you checked the respective manufacturers' support/download web
sites? If the computer manufacturer (or the manufacturers of the
computer's diverse components) don't provide the necessary drivers, no
one does. That's why one always checks for such things *before*
installing a new/different operating system.

There may not be XP drivers available, and you may be out of luck. The
assumption that every new computer that comes with Vista can run XP
instead is not correct.

If that's the case with your computer, your only choice will be to put
Vista back on it.
