Personally I have used this with no problems. You can uninstall if it
doesn't help or causes you any problems as an MS employee suggests here.
His approach seems to be if MS doesn't supply the codec don't listen to the
file. You might check to see if you installed a codec package in XP and use
the same supplier's file.
