Subject: Error 0 x 80072EE2

I too am having difficulty in updates, which I have never previously
encountered. I have tried various remedies as per this site such as checking
for IP lists in the hosts file, flushing the cache, deleting cookies and
history, renaming the "Software Distribution" folder etc. but to no avail.
Any suggestions? Cheers.

Hi there...

I had problems for several hours with windows update error 80072EE2.

I also tried all suggested solutions with no sucess.

Fortunately at the end I finally found the solution to my particular
problema.

80072EE2 is a timeout error, in my case it was caused by a disabled
https protocol. My network-domain administrator disabled all https
protocols for all machines in our domain, and that was the problem.

You just can't use windows update with "http" protocol only.
