sudden vista login error - handle is invalid...???

i've suddenly developed the inability to login to Vista Ult. - i had a
trojan Vundo.EWS that may be the culprit, but in any case, i'm told on
login that "The Handle Is Invalid" and when i select "OK" i have my
username with a password option. i've never had a password before, and
whenever i attempt one it reboots... if i choose "reset password" i'm
prompted for my Reset Password disk, which i created from a Home Version
of Vista, but that errors also...

what's causing this Handle Invalid error in Vista, anyone? help???

Hi,

Possibly a damaged userinit.exe file or ntuser.dat is corrupt. Have you
tried logging on to other profiles in Safe mode?

well, interestingly enough, i remembered to F8 when i booted and use
Last Known Good Config and got in... ultimately i found that SOMETHIN
had created a second User Account, "Unknown User" or something lik
that. i don't remember what kind of permissions it had, but that wa
wierd. i deleted it and all was fine...

maybe this trojan Vundo i had, or one of several apps i downloaded t
kill it...

Usually, a "temporary" account is created when ntuser.dat is corrupt.
