Suddenly Can't Open Zip Files?

I had a few zip files emailed to me yesterday, that I can't open. I sent
them to someone else on Vista and they opened fine so I know the files aren't
corrupt. I can neither unzip the folder nor open the files in it before
unzipping.

When I try to open the files before unzipping the folder it says "Windows
cannot complete the extraction. The destination file cannot be created."

When I try to extract / unzip the whole folder it says "An unexpcted error
is preventing the opperation.... Error 0x8000700057: The parameter is
incorrect."

What's even more strange is that older zip files I already had I can access
fine....

It's possible that the file became corrupt after you sent it. Try unzipping
with Winzip. You can use it in Demo mode to see if it actually corrupt.

Again, like I said in the first post the files aren't corrupt because
everyone else running Vista that I sent them to can open them fine....

Maybe your file associations with the ZIP extnesion have been changed. I'm
not at a Vista machine so I can't tell you how to change them, but that is a
good place to start.

Hi,

Maybe your zip files are damaged by some reason. You may try Advance
Zip Repair at 'Advanced Zip Repair - Repair corrupt Zip files. Fix Zi
files.' (http://www.datanumen.com/azr/) This tool is rather useful i
salvaging damaged Zip archives. There is a free demo you can just try
Hope this is useful
