Suddenly slow Vista

Hello everybody!

I have a problem with my Windows Vista from time to time. The matter is that
the system becomes incredibly slow without having high computer performances
(slow cpu speed, less memory usage etc.). This state persists up to a new
system restart. After the restart everything is working fine but the problem
is coming back from time to time (a few days later in general).

To my system:
I have a new Thinkpad X60t with just a few programs on it - Matlab, OneNote,
OpenOffice, Latex.
I am sure that I do not have a virus on my system.
The cpu temperature is ok (55°C-65°C).

Does anybody of you have the same problem or just knows a solution?

Many thanks for all your support!
Michael :-)

Do you mean you are running your machine for a few days without turning off?

If so, for some reason Windows doesn't like that. Or so I have always
found.

*yawn* Who doesn't have a new Thinkpad X60t with just a few programs on
it.

Problem? It's all in your mind. Of course, I'm granting the assumption
that you actually have one.

If the problem isn't caused by Norton, it's caused by Vista.
You could "upgrade to XP" or leave your problems behind by getting a
MacOS X PC.
