It was working excellently and today when I tried to check updates, there
was something NEW:all Microsoft updates at one page with other old links and
on clicking and trying all the links the same error message displayed!

Something goes good and something bad, ... May be I'm trying to found
solution for the problems I'm facing and are doing what sites are suggesting.
Previously Windows Installer was running continously and on clicking
virtually any thing but now it runs for few seconds and do also have less
frequency, may be due to updating IE 7.0 or due to installation of Spybot
says 1177 processes are blocked.
Performance has improved after spybot, but network place not showing
connections for edit and also on connecting internet icon is not showing
despite its box checked ...
But still so many programs not working like Intervideo, Movie Maker, MS
Access, and other programs, Excel and word though working but says some
errors, etc..
I had purchased NORTON which FAILED & could not protect & didnot got
re-installed. Then I bought QuickHeal, as advised by windows genuine
advantage, which has not found any virus. NORTON had warned for coming of
some new virus but could not detect and failed!
Trying n trying for solutions...very difficult to avoid re-installing of
WINDOWS XP, one more long task and what guarantee it will have full
protection..
