It seems you can create a folder just about anywhere except in the System
Tray. I have at least 15 programs running in my System Tray and I really
don't want to see of them. It would be great if I could hide a few of them
from sight by throwing them into a folder. They'd still be running, I just
wouldn't see them unless I opned the folder.

Just select either Exit or Close and magic they are gone

go to setting of the each programm and disable tray icon
almost all software has that function

Right click on the Taskbar > Properties > Notification Area > Hide
Inactive Icons > Customize

Here you can choose the icons to Hide, Show or Hide When Inactive
