Hello,

I have an iPAQ6910 and activesync 4.2.

I can sync eveything I want across except my contacts when I check that in
options I get the support code 800703fa. I have tried removing the contents
of my address book on my laptop to try and reset it. I've reset my PDA and
I've uninstalled and installed v4.2 - can anyone suggest a solution to the
is problem MS KB doesn't cast any light on the subject.

Many thanks,

A.

Hi Alastair,

Have you tried running scanpst? By reset do you mean a soft reset or a hard
reset?

I did attempt to do that by I cannot find any .pst folders on my laptop.

On the iPAQ 6910 I presssed the power switch and the reset button (using my
stylus) together - which I *think* is a hard reset.

Many thanks for getting back to me so quickly,

Best wishes,

A.

Hi,

Search for scanpst.exe on your computer. You will need to run it against
the .pst file. If you are unable to locate the path of the .pst file, do
the following:

1. Open Outlook.
2. Click File -> Data File Management
3. This should list all the PST files that are present. Click Open Folder
and you should find the storage path of your *.pst file.

Yes from the steps outlined that sounds like you have performed the hard
reset. A successful hard reset would require you calibrate the screen and
perform the cut and paste of an appointment.

Hello,

I may have found the problem - on an iPAQ 6910 a hrad reset consists of
Press and hold Answer/Send/Power AND End call - whilst pressing reset witht
he stylus.

I will let you know how I get on.

I have a similar problem with a Palm Treo 700WX. Same error message and my
contacts do not update properly. When I view "all contacts" I only see some
of them. When I view using "no category" I see all of them. Will running
scanpst.exe solve this problem. I can't find scanpst.exe on my computer. If
this would help then where do I get scanpst.exe?

Thanks.
